have been outlawed and we no longer fear the officious police- man or vindictive busybody. As long as we mind our own business, act reasonably and dress in a manner appropriate to our surroundings, we can be reasonably sure of being left alone. There is far more toler- ance in the general public, too. I don't suppose I really passed with everyone of the hundred or so people I must have spoken to in my recent car trip with Paula, no one showed anything but courtesy and easy friendli-
ness to us.
I look forward to years more of spending part of my life as a woman, dining out, occasionally dancing (when I have an escort who knows and likes me well enough to indulge my pleasure in dancing) and generally living fror the odd day as the elegant woman I would very like to seem. I am very fortunate that my friends know that I am hetero and therefore not interested in any other kind of liaison beyond the friendship and affection that a woman will give to her friends. Companionship is often better and more lasting than sex. One of my regular com- panions, by the way, is a lovely lady named Gretel, who owns
a fantasy-wear boutique which markets her brilliant high fa- shion clothing and accessory designs. Gretel has made me some of my most amazing
outfits, including the lace bodice and crinoline skirt shown in at least one of the pictures accompanying this story. She has also used me as a model on occasion and we have been to the beach together as well as to discotheques, Life with Gre- tel is NEVER dull and her Christmas parties are legendary. I have been extremely lucky to have stumbled on my Crea- tive Fantasists and look forward to more crazy times with them, though I don't suppose that I will ever again be invited half- way around the world for a week end.
